First, we'll have a look at your brows, discuss your main concerns and goals and disinfect the area being treated. Your 'before' photo will be taken and a topical anesthetic cream will be applied on your eyebrows to start the numbing process. The numbing cream will ensure maximum comfort during the procedure.
While the topical anesthetic is working, we discuss colour and mix a few pigments; applying swatches on your forehead to best match your natural brow colour, skin tone and hair colour.
Once the numbing cream is removed, your brows will be carefully mapped and shaped with a wax pencil. A unique and customized shape is created based on the measurements and the structure of your face. Any specific requests (thicker/ thinner brows, higher arch, longer tails, etc.) will all be considered while drawing. This step can and will be done over-and-over if necessary to ensure satisfaction and confidence in the result.
Once the shape has been confirmed, we are ready to start blading! The tip of the blade is dipped into the pigment and swept through the brow as individual hair-like strokes. During this process, we will continue to apply anesthetic gel as needed for maximum comfort throughout the procedure.
Once brows are complete, your 'after' photo will be taken. We will go over after-care instructions and apply some natural healing cream on your brows before you leave. We recommend communicating with us during the healing process incase any questions or concerns come up. The follow-up appointment is highly recommended as it is difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment.
There's really no work to be done pre-appointment. Best thing would be to leave your brows alone (no waxing, threading, trimming, etc.) for a few weeks prior to the appointment. Keeping brows at their most natural (wild) state actually helps give us full control when mapping and shaping them out. During the procedure, we will also tweeze/ shape brows as necessary.
Some guidelines to go by after the procedure: Avoid touching your brows with anything that may carry bacteria (hands, makeup brushes, etc.) for the first 24-48 hours. No cleansers, creams, makeup or any other products on treated area for 4 days. Only use the natural healing cream given to you by the artist (with sterilized hands or gloves) on the treated area to help keep moisturized and protected. In the shower, avoid direct contact with water to the treated area. Do not rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can potentially pull out pigment. Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 3-4 weeks after procedure. Avoid heavy sweating for the first 4 days. No facials, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
Please note: Eyebrows will appear darker and bolder due to natural scabbing and healing for the first 10 days. This is very common for all semi-permanent cosmetic procedures. We will discuss all the aftercare instructions during/ after the appointment and you will receive and email with the aftercare instructions to help keep you on track for the following 2-3 weeks of healing time.
The touch up typically happens 4 - 6 weeks after the initial appointment. As your brows are healing you may notice some lines choose to hold less pigment or even disappear completely which is the main purpose of the touch up. Also, as you become more comfortable with how your brows are looking you may begin to change your brow goals (darker, thicker, higher arch) which we can then address when you come back! Once the touch up is complete, you're good to go for 6 months - 3 years (this timeline is very much dependant on the individual and their skin care routine). Many clients like to keep their brows looking sharp and dark so they come for touch ups more frequently to help maintain a certain look.
See you soon!
